Mr. Y.G.I. Saman Kumara appointed as the new Chairman

Mr. Y.G.I. Saman Kumara has been appointed as the new Chairman of Milco Company Limited. The appointment was made by Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera. the Minister has also assigned the duties of this chairmanship to Mr. Y.G.I. Saman Kumara. The new chairman assumed duties from 18th of March .

In the letter appointing the new chairman, the Minister has also mentioned that this appointment is being made in consideration of the increase in employee dissatisfaction of the company and the decrease in the production productivity of Milco Company.

A significant change that took place during this period was to handover all the Chilling Centres managed by Milco to the farmer managed Societies. The farmer has become responsible from the time of milking up to time of the dispatch to the factory. It is our intention to ensure the Farmer Societies are facilitated to handover good quality milk at our manufacturing plants.
